Mr. Wiles is one of the founders of the firm. He now concentrates a substantial portion of his practice in the governmental area, corporate law and real estate law, including the representation of municipalities, private developers and small corporations. Since entering the practice of law, Mr. Wiles has tried or argued cases at all levels of the state courts. He is now serving as law director for the City of Willoughby. He also represents many small business clients such as Anesthesia Associates and Main Street Associates.

Mr. Wiles is a member of the Ohio and Lake County Bar Association and has served as an officer of the Lake County Bar Association.

    Daniel F. Richards, a lifelong resident of Lake County, Ohio, is a senior partner in the law firm of Wiles and Richards, since 1966. He practices in the area of civil litigation, including extensive municipal and insurance litigation, corporate law, business law, probate and estate planning, real estate and employment law. He has assisted other members in this firm, over the past thirty years, in their representation of other Municipalities and Townships within Lake County, including appropriation litigation. He has served as legal counsel on behalf of local government in appeals before the Eleventh District Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Ohio and the Supreme Court of United States.

    At the present time, Mr. Richards serves as the Law Director of the City of Kirtland. Prior to becoming Law Director of Kirtland, he served as Assistant Law Director for the City of Mentor, a position he held for over thirty years. He has frequently appeared as a speaker at Municipal and Township land use and zoning seminars. He is a member of the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association. He currently serves as: The Legal Liaison member of the Board of the Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce, a member on the Board of Managers of the YMCA, a Trustee of the Lake Hospital Foundation and a member of the Mentor Rotary. His wife Grace has been very active in Lake County non-profit organizations and has served as a President of Mentor Junior Women's Club as well as a Vice-President of the Western Reserve Service League. He and Grace have three sons and three grandchildren.

  • Michael C. Lucas, mlucas@wilesrichards.com

    Michael C. Lucas is a partner of Wiles and Richards since 1988. He practices in the area of civil litigation, with an emphasis in personal injury, zoning, domestic relations, municipal and township law and general business organization and practice. He has served as legal counsel on the appellate level on a wide variety of cases in these areas in Northeast Ohio.

    At the present time, he is the Law Director for Concord Township and Assistant Law Director for the City of Willoughby, and has previously served as Solicitor for the Village of Timberlake and zoning counsel for Painesville Township. He is a frequent speaker at municipal and township zoning law seminars, and a member of the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys and Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Lucas also participates in the Lake County Bar Association as a committee member. He is a graduate of Leadership Lake County. He and his wife, Mary Lou, together with their three children, reside in Concord Township.

  • Michael P. Germano, mgermano@wilesrichards.com

    Michael joined the law firm in 1987 after earning his law degree at The Ohio Northern University College of Law. There, he was elected President of the Student Bar Association during his third year. Michael attended Cleveland State University after graduating from Lake Catholic High School in 1978. Michael worked in the excavating/construction trades for his father's excavating company prior to joining the firm. This working knowledge in the trades, has assisted Michael in his representation of clients with construction related issues, including contract issues. Michael practices in Lake, Cuyahoga, Geauga and Ashtabula Counties, in both Common Pleas and Municipal Courts. His emphasis is in civil litigation, workers' compensation and misdemeanor criminal defense.

    Michael currently resides in the City of Willoughby Hills. He served on Willoughby Hills City Council from 1993 through August of 2004. He assists the firm's representation of its municipal clients. Currently, he is the village solicitor for the Village of Timberlake and has served in that capacity for the last 6 years. He also serves as the Prosecutor for the City of Kirtland and Willoughby Hills. Michael is a member of the Knights of Columbus, The Americans of Italian Heritage Club, and is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Lake County.

  • Geoffrey W. Weaver, gwweaver@wilesrichards.com

    Geoff Weaver has represented clients in numerous areas of law, from organizing small and large business entities to drafting wills and administering estates for individuals and families. His primary area of practice, however, is civil litigation and appeals. He has litigated personal injury, wrongful death, worker’s compensation, complex contract cases and criminal matters at the trial level and has provided representation in over forty cases in the appellate courts of Ohio. Geoff also practices in the area of administrative law, including prosecuting and defending discrimination claims and representing claimants in Social Security Disability cases. He also has a substantial foreclosure practice and has represented the Lake County Treasurer in tax foreclosures.

    Geoff has been an attorney with Wiles & Richards since 1995. He attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana and New York University School of Law, where he earned his law degree in 1991. He moved to Lake County that same year and began working as an Assistant County Prosecutor. Geoff has also been an Acting Judge in the Painesville Municipal Court, an occasional instructor at Lakeland Community College, a member of the Lake County Zoning Commission, a Trustee of the Eastlake Chamber of Commerce and is very active in the Lake County Bar Association, currently serving as the bar’s President. Geoff presently resides in Kirtland with his wife, Dana, and their children Jessica and Alex.

    Stacy E. Dame graduated from the Ohio State University, magna cum laude, and earned her law degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She joined the firm in 2003 and has since assisted a number of individuals, families, and business entities in addressing their legal needs in a variety of complex civil matters. Stacy devotes a substantial portion of her practice to assisting families in addressing the legal issues surrounding divorce, dissolution, custody, visitation, paternity, child support, civil protection orders, enforcement, and post decree modification actions. She also advises families in the creation of their estate planning documents (such as Wills, Trusts, Financial and Healthcare Power of Attorneys, and Living Wills) and works side by side with executors in the administration of probate estates. Stacy has helped small business owners in a wide range of matters including but not limited to the creation of documents required for business organization, dissolving business entities, and registration of Trademarks/Service Marks with the appropriate Federal and State agencies. She also plays a key role in assisting the firm in its extensive practice representing various local townships and municipalities.

    Stacy is a member of the Madison-Perry Chamber of Commerce, the Willoughby Chamber of Commerce, the Lake County Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and serves on the North Perry Village Board of Zoning Appeals. She resides in Perry with her husband, Bob, who is a lifelong resident of Lake County.

    Amy Pennza graduated cum laude from Kent State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, emphasis on the American Presidency. She was awarded her Juris Doctorate cum laude from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in August of 2004 and was admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio in May of 2005. In law school, she worked for the City of Cleveland Law Department in the City’s Civil Division, gaining valuable experience in a variety of practice areas including municipal and zoning law, environmental law, and constitutional law. Amy also served for six years in the Ohio Army National Guard Military Police Corps, earning her officer’s commission in May of 2001.

    Amy is admitted to practice in all Ohio courts. She is a member of the Lake County Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Willoughby Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband, Richard, live in Willoughby.
